You missed the most important...when I was active there were a lot of nice girls in the congregations. If you can stand the JW lifestyle you will have a lot of women to pick and chose from.
But I think that the same could be sait about a "normal" church aswell.

False prophets or simply wrong expectations?
by leaving_quietly inin a talk i heard recently, the brother was talking about how jws had certain expectations about the end, acknowledging 1914, 1925, surely before 1935 and 1975, then we learned that it's not in our jurisdiction to know jehovah's timetable.
then he said, some say that because we made those mistakes, some say jws are false prophets.
he said that was "simplistic thinking".

OK, Leaving quietly..thats fine! Read it if you want. But the importat thing is to understand that the bible, christianity is just plain bullshit! If this book helps you understand that, it's fine reading it! Otherwise....you can do something that you like and fin interesting. I myself think that reading WT-litterature is a waste of our precious lifetime.

last sunday's public talk was about tools the devil uses to tear down our faith, and as usual; apostacy, false teaching and erroneous thinking came up in the point, and the speaker went on and on, accusing apostates of being perverts and aspiring to live a life of debauchery which couldn't be tolerated amongst jehovah's people.. he further went on stating that if eventually apostates get into the world, they often find themselves not being able to mix up with satan's system as a result of the bible based understanding which they had acquired, and they ended up getting bitter and wasting their lives .
those words were quite frightenning, i never heard it this strong before!!

Memorial is Tuesday, and Elders are calling the heck out of me LOL
by nolongerconfused inseriously?...how sillier can these people get...i have completely faded and stopped going for 6 months now...they never ever called me to say hi while i was there or when i recently stopped going.... then now all of a sudden the memorial is here and they want to call me?
how about trying to get their attendance up or fill in some numbers.... i can only lmao at this cult...satan has these jw's by the neck.... so sad....

Hmm..I just got one thought. Many times (a lot of years) my step-father (who is the PO in a congregation) called me and wanted me to check out the exact time of sundown on the memorial night. So, in his congregation it was an apostate that set the time-table for the memorial!
He is a nice man, so of course he got the right timing.

Persecution????? Bullshit! He told them not to have families because the world would come to it's end. In that whole chapter 7 you don't see a word about persecution. That other stuff is just lies from apologists.

Have a look at this! Paus wrote to the Corinthians not to get married or raise a family, because the world was coming to its end.
1 Cor 7:
27 Are you pledged to a woman? Do not seek to be released. Are you free from such a commitment? Do not look for a wife. 28 But if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this.

So even Paul was a false prophet.....or..did he just have wrong expectations?
